Artist Statement
The pieces on display here are the result of a collaboration between people suffering from mental health and the artist. It's a dialogue where whoever shared the story has a say in what the final piece will be like. Each piece has a story behind it and the progress of the work is compared with the themes and refined until the result reflects exactly how the person feels.
I would like to draw a comparison between the themes of mental health issues, like depression, anxiety, bipolar and those that many of us experience but that frequently go undetected in order for the viewer to be able to relate the message being communicated.
