EMI CANDIDO
Emi Candido is a Metalworker and conceptual artist.
He was born and raised in Brazil. He relocated to Europe and lived and worked in several countries while studying. Since he had always been interested in art, he chose to study industrial design in Lisbon, Portugal, and working as an artistic silkscreen printer together with painting and installations. He employed the hues from the silk-screen studio where he worked to hand paint clothing. He worked in the fashion industry in Italy, creating hand-painted t-shirts, dresses, and unique objects in a studio in Naples. Additionally, he lived on a volcanic island in southern Italy for five years, creating objects out of lava stone and continuing his hand-painted clothing exhibitions. After many years travelling around Europe he decided to settle down in Sweden, where he became a father. He returned to art school for the remaining four years, earning a bachelor's degree in metal art at HDK-Valand before deciding to pursue a master's degree in metal art there as well.
